HYROX and hybrid race training

Plans that adapt to your week

Your plan adapts to the training you actually did, not the training you meant to do. Sync your watch, log a session, and next week rebuilds itself around you.

An ENGN race plan for a 1:15:00 HYROX goal, listing all eight runs and eight stations in race order with a target time and elapsed time for each
Most apps guess your finish time. ENGN tells you how to hit it, down to the seconds you can afford in each roxzone.

Know where you stand today

ENGN predicts your finish from your own results, and tells you how sure it is. No app can promise you a time, so you get a range and a confidence figure rather than one number dressed up as a fact. Log real sessions, post a faster test, and the range narrows.

  • A range, not a guess
  • Confidence you can see
  • Sharpens as you test
An ENGN predicted HYROX finish of 1:11:00, with a range from 1:05:41 to 1:16:20 and a confidence of 60 percent

Built around your race

Pick your event and your goal time. ENGN builds every week from today through to race day, structured in build and recovery blocks, and tapered so you arrive fresh. Most plans are a PDF that stops being true the moment life gets in the way.

  • Build, deload and taper
  • Three clear phases
  • Race week checklist
A thirteen week ENGN training block shown as a bar per week, with recovery weeks and a taper marked, and the three training phases labelled beneath

You always know what you are doing

Open a session and the structure is already written: the warm-up, the work, the recoveries in between and the cool-down, each with its own target. Station work lists the movements in order with an alternative when you do not have the kit, and strength work carries your sets, reps and last recorded load.

  • A target on every step
  • Movements in order
  • Equipment alternatives
  • Live session timer
An ENGN HYROX session broken into a warm-up, three twelve minute components with recoveries between, and a cool-down, each with its own target

It adapts to what you actually did

Log a session, or let it sync from your watch, and ENGN recalculates your recovery demand and adjusts the sessions that follow. Short on time, missing equipment, run down or you missed one entirely: each has its own way through, and a missed session is never added back as a catch-up.

  • Watch sync
  • Readiness check-in
  • Move, resize or skip
  • No catch-up sessions
A week of ENGN training where Thursday's session has been shortened from 50 to 38 minutes after Wednesday was logged at RPE 9

Every session has a number

No guessing what "easy" means. ENGN turns your own test results into the pace for every kind of session you run, including the compromised pace that is all that matters between stations, and recalculates them the moment you post a better time.

  • From your own results
  • Updated as you improve
  • Station tests too
ENGN training paces calculated from a 45:00 10 km: easy, long, threshold, intervals and compromised

Eight runs. Eight stations. One plan that knows the difference.

Everything you'll actually use

No settings to dig through and no dashboards to configure. Training sits in three tabs, and Coach or your log is one tap away from wherever you are.

01 Today

Today's session, a one-tap "how are you feeling" check-in that adjusts the day when you need it to, and quick access to Coach if today needs to change.

02 Plan

Your whole block, week by week. See which build or recovery week you're in, where you are in the three phases, and every session laid out day by day through to race day.

03 Progress

Your predicted race finish time, a segment-by-segment race plan built from your own pace and station tests, aerobic base trend, and personal records, not guesses.

04 Coach

Ask in plain language, right from Today. Move a session, cut your load when you're run down, log a workout. It proposes the change, you approve it, nothing happens behind your back.

05 Activity

Your training log, grouped by month with real totals: distance, time, session count. Log a session by hand, import a screenshot, or sync automatically from your watch.

Questions

Which watches does it work with?

Apple Watch, Garmin, Coros, Polar, Suunto and Wahoo all sync through Apple Health. Finish a session on your wrist and it appears in ENGN on its own. You can also import FIT, GPX and TCX files, read a workout straight off a screenshot, or log it by hand.

What happens if I miss a week?

Nothing breaks. Move, resize or skip any session and the plan works around it. ENGN recalculates what comes next rather than piling the missed work onto the days ahead, so you are never handed a week of catch-up sessions you cannot absorb.

Do I need a full gym?

No. You tell ENGN what you actually have access to, from a full HYROX-equipped gym down to a garage setup, and station work is written around that equipment. Where a movement is not possible, the session shows an alternative that trains the same thing.

Where do the numbers on this page come from?

They are real output from the app. The race plan, the training block and the paces shown above were produced by ENGN's own planning engine for one athlete: a 45:00 10 km, chasing 1:15:00 in the Open Men division, twelve weeks out from race day.

Is ENGN an official HYROX app?

No. ENGN is an independent training app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to HYROX or its organisers.
